An eleven (11 ) storey carpark built at South Brisbane is the first building to incorporate a precast, prestressed and post-tensioned concrete beam shell developed by Precast Solutions.
The $22.5 million Water street Ccr park was completed in late 2005. It provides an additonal 11 floors of carparking space for staff and visitors to the six hospitals that form the Mater Hospital complex.
According to Richard Norris, Construction Manager for Watpac Australia:-
"This is the first time I've used Precast Solution's products and I'm pretty impressed, especially by the time and money savings. The other main benefits from the sytem are its simplicity and the fact that the site is much more tidy during construction compared to traditional systems"
